Hey they may have been talking about Renee Zellweger. I read in a book called "The Big Show" by Steve Pond ( A Book about behind the scenes and backstage at the Academy awards) that Jack Nicholson, Nicolas Cage, and Renee Zellweger were all outside taking a break before the 75th awards ceremony. Then it said that Renee went back inside before the others.  So maybe that photo was taken right after she went inside  Its an interesting book, it tells you about several years of Awards and it even has a picture of Nic hugging Patricia backstage after he won award for Leaving Las Vegas.
