TBILISI, SEPTEMBER 8. Media reports that a famous Hollywood star, Nicolas Cage, is going to come to Georgia to star in a new movie, in which he will allegedly perform Georgian President?s role, have nor been confirmed. It seems that some bloggers have played a practical joke on media outlets once again.

Georgian ?The Akhali Taoba? (new generation) newspaper reported on Tuesday that Nicolas Cage would arrive in Georgia on September 21 for filming a new movie on the August war 2008.

U.S. Embassy in Georgia told journalists, the aforesaid report had been known to it but it could neither confirm nor deny that information. Georgian Ministry of Culture also refused to comment on media reports.

The source of the disseminated information was the material published on life journal blog http://meshekskyi.livejournal.com/32679.html. Certain Meshekskyi reported with referred to The Times that Nicolas Cage would strat working on a new film entitled ?The Bitter Sip of Freedom? in cooperation with the Stone Village Pictures.

?Cage will be a co-producer, as well as will perform the leading role of the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili,? the blog report reads.

In fact, Nicolas Cage is going to star in the thriller by Roger Donaldson - The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Filming will start in January 2010, in New Orleans.
