Some guy blogged this while at the KICK ASS panel...
6:03
Dana Vinson: Hey everyone! I'm here at the Kick Ass panel.
6:04
Dana Vinson: They're starting off by showing some clips from the first act of the film. Said they didn't want to see lame by showing just some trailer.
6:05
Dana Vinson: The first clip is a rough cut from the movie. Looks good, even though all the digital effects aren't in yet. Plus, the diaglogue is hilarious.
6:08
Dana Vinson: Here come the players...Director Matthew Vaughn, Screenwriter Jane Goldman, Mark Millar...
6:08
Dana Vinson: Also, McLovin' is on stage...awesome.
6:10
Dana Vinson: Another clip, the movie looks good. Stylized, but not in an annoying way.
6:11
Dana Vinson: The crowd is really responding well. Lots of hoots and screams from the audience.
6:12
Dana Vinson: Matthew Vaughn kind of rambles on during the set up for the next clip, promises that "the clip will be better than his explanation."
6:14
Dana Vinson: They're playing Call of Duty: WoW in the movie. Awesome. Totally makes it more authentically nerdy.
6:15
Dana Vinson: Guy just got tasered in the face! (In Kick Ass, not actually at Comic-Con)
6:16
Dana Vinson: FIght scenes look well choreographed, really fit in well with the feeling of the rest of the movie. Very interesting visual style.
6:17
Dana Vinson: The crowd is giving the panel a standing ovation. They are in love with the footage they're seeing. Enthusiasm is sweeping the room.
6:19
Dana Vinson: Vaughn just swore on his kids that those were all scenes were from the first act and were not the best stuff from the movie.
6:20
Dana Vinson: The rest of the panel was jokingly mad he actually swore on his kids. But judging from this trailer they just showed, I think that was a safe bet.
6:20
Dana Vinson: The crowd is laughing, screaming clapping. They're loving it.
6:22
Dana Vinson: Christopher Mintz-Plasse apparently has a problem with being called McLovin'...Then you should have picked a less complicated name than Mintz-Plasse.
6:23
Dana Vinson: Now, it's time for fan questions...
6:24
Dana Vinson: The script for the film actually came before the comic, which is interesting.
6:26
Dana Vinson: It's funny, Matthew, Jane and Mark have these very regal British accents, but John Romita Jr. sounds like an extra from Goodfellas. Romita's awesome! The whole mix is very cool.
6:27
Dana Vinson: Unfortunately, Comic-Con has a strict "no filming" policy for their panels, so no, there won't be any video from this up on the site unfortunately.
6:28
Dana Vinson: They don't know when it'll be released, because they don't have a distributor yet. They're hoping that it'll sell after Comic-Con, so we can all see it.
6:28
Dana Vinson: So, that means no release date for the movie yet. Hopefully soon.
6:29
Dana Vinson: Also Jane, just admitted that she plays World of Warcraft. She has awesome pink hair and awesome taste in entertainment.
6:30
Dana Vinson: Millar sees the Kick-Ass comic series as being a three part series. Says if it goes past that, you'll know he had to pay bills.
6:32
Dana Vinson: The audience insists on seeing the trailer one more time before the panel breaks...Director Matthew Vaughn says "it might be the last time you see any footage from this movie." He seems seriously nervous this won't find a distributor.
6:32
Dana Vinson: Seeing the trailer again, it looks great. I don't know how any studio could pass this up.
6:34
Dana Vinson: That's it from the Kick-Ass panel! Tune in for more live blogs starting tomorrow at 10:30 AM PST. We'll be covering Warner Bros and a whole lot more!
