RE: one of his best roles

Interesting take on the creation of 'Cameron' there.   What's funny tho is that I recently read that Nic had ALOT of say in how he wanted to portray Cameron.  Maybe he was in some sort of 'honorable' mood, eh?

Thanks sweetie... I know you were being honest, it was me who had her mind miiiles awaaay from honesty *wicked grin*

I read somewhere that Nic said he took that Eddie role in Deadfall because he had resented so much that his uncle had not chosen him to play Dracula that he felt he needed an onscreen release for all that frustration. I donīt know if he really said that though. Probably not.

Oh, and Iīd like to qualify what I said earlier about Cameron Poe. Nic has played conventional characters before and after this one (like every other actor) but he always gives them a twist, and that makes them come to life with believability. In Cameronīs case, well, for my taste he was too macho-man, too goody-goody, and you had not doubt whatsoever from minute one that he was gonna save the day. His motivations were crystal clear and he had no flawed streak on him, and his attitude lacked this twisted sense of humor that has become a signature of Nicīs work. This is obviously not Nicīs fault, since he didnīt write the script... but Iīm missing Nicīs TWIST here, the touch that would make this Cameron guy a less perfect hero and a more convincing human being. Cameron was taking himself too seriously IMHO. Maybe I didnīt pay enough attention??

Well something didnīt escape my attention: the Cameron boy looked mighty HOT!

Hey.............the Triple M remark was an honest, witty one!  No apologizes necessary.

And um.....I'm most def with you on the Deadfall bit.  I realize that Nic did this flick to collaborate with his brother but even according to the very same brother.......the movie sucked!   Why Nic chose to play such a weirdo in the manner he played him is beyond me.  Maybe it's all part of the process of 'spreading your creative wings'.......or something like that...........LOL!

Sorry about the Triple M remark. Was in poor taste and had no bearing on the subject at hand.

Triple M... I like that, sounds like the title of a kinky novel of which I could be the protagonist... but I digress pitifully (youīll have to excuse me, Iīm in a weird mood today)

Well Iīm a huge fan of Nic but this doesnīt mean I agree with everything he does. Not all of the great masterīs pieces of art have to be masterpieces.

I hate his characterization as Eddie in Deadfall. In fact, I hated the whole movie so much that I threw it in the garbage can soon after having purchased it. Thatīs why my Nic collection will never be complete, LOL!

And (and thatīs gonna throw some flame my way) I didnīt like his choices in Con Air. I know Cameron Poe is a big favorite and heīs very proud of this character because the producers let him have his way and he could shape it as he liked. But for me it came out too cliched, and Iīm used to expect much more from Nicīs imagination. Itīs just MHO guys... Iīm probably wrong. But on personal taste no heart can mend, LOL!

Hey Naysayer?   Ya with me on being an 'enquiring mind' here?   I'm very curious what two portrayals Nic did of characters that our modest moderator is referring to......

Pretty please spill Triple M

Dearest Naysayer: you can rain on the Little Junior parade anytime... we donīt have to love all of Nicīs characters... I personally hate at least two of them... (not the characters, the way he portrayed them), sooo...
