I saw it at last, I like Jon Turteltaub, he seems to ooze positive energy. He must be a great director to work with, I think that comes across in the National Treasure films, their flavour, a synthesis where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts!

Check this out if you want some more info about Nic & John at high school, straight from the horse´s mouth (turn the volume down because the anchor has a tendency to yell)
They went to the same High School and Turteltaub was one year ahead of Nic. Here are a couple of quotes I found on the IMDB site....
"Then I was in college being miserable and studying and [Nicolas Cage] was making a lot of money and getting fame and fortune and being on the cover of GQ. I have since become successful and still never been asked to be on the cover of GQ".
"Nic [Nicolas Cage] was a junior and I was a senior. It's hard to believe he's younger than I am. Nic was like the cool outsider - he kind of had this James Dean quality - but he thinks he was the loser who didn't fit in. But he doesn't realize all the girls think that's hot".
