I think maybe you hit the nail Bonnie. He just works to please himself these days, irrespective of the quality or the scope of the work. It´s a funny thing with creative types: they´re blindly following the dictates of their artistic conscience.

Mozart, for instance, met with his audience´s disapproval when he thought his time was too precious to just do what he was expected to, and began to compose music only for himself, and was the first artist to take an independent stance from the powers that be and free himself from any patrons . People just HATED him, and he died poor because nobody was hiring him anymore. He ignored his public and they repaid him likewise. Fast-forward two hundred years and, the irony is, he´s considered undeniably a genius.

And I would love Nic to make the Electric God movie.. Something tells me, it would be a cathartic release for his dark side... I just ordered the book. I´m prone to outbursts too and I´m curious to see what ´s Catherine Ryan Hyde proposal to cope with them.
