This is pretty cool.  If you go to this link and click on the box to the right that says "Watch Flash Video"  you'll hear a member of the US House of Representatives congratulate my daughter's High School's band for their participation in the Obama Inaugural Parade.

For anyone interested.....you can go to
http://www.c-span.org/ and go to the Inaugural parade and then at about 1hr 46 minutes, directly behind the horses....is my daughter's HS BAND playing.  The banner reads CARL SANDBURG HIGH SCHOOL.  My son's friend is a tuba player midway in the group.  You can't see him directly...but it is pretty cool he had the chance to play in the parade.

Hey guys.....just tooting my daughter's HIGH SCHOOL and my son's friend here....

Incoming US President Obama is from Illinois which is where I live.  Over 1300 high school bands from Illinois applied for and were considered to play in the Presidential Inaugural Parade. 

Only SIX were chosen, one of them being my daughter's High School's band from the Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL.

Anyhooo...one of my son's best buds will be in the parade.  He plays the tuba and is in the H.S. Marching band....

So...If anyone is interested.....watch for....

The Carl Sandburg Marching High School Band.  They will be following the Merchant Marines and should be in the 6th group in the parade.  John Ryan, my son's friend, will be playing the Tuba in the middle of the row of Tuba players.  He's tall, blond and round faced.  Sandburg's mascot is the Eagle.
