Meow, welcome to the forum! What an interesting question... Bonnie has a good memory, Nic travelled to Ireland with his dad and his friend Phil Roy before the shooting to get into the local pubs atmosphere... The only link I could find was the following one (scroll down and youīll find a blurb about it):

Some people in Ireland say he was being recognized in pubs all the time and couldnīt perform his research as he wanted, so he ended up ordering booze from room service at his hotel... Itīs not confirmed if this is an urband legend or itīs true, LOL.

 remember reading the story many moons ago.  I believe the story was Phil Roy.  You would probably have to go to a library and bring up articles from back in the early 90's to find info on it.  I'm sorry I can't remember any more.  Good luck.

So I read that Nic actually went on a 2 week drinking binge in Dublin to get into character, and had his friend film it.

I would love to know more on this experience he had. I can't seem to find any other info other than that.

Anyone know?
