Woohoo~
Thanks a million, Mara!! clap.gif
(I'm still working hard on finishing all Nic's films... sprint.gif)

Here are another significant moments...

  • The Family Man: In the beginning of the movie, Nic only wears underpants when singing an opera song... a funny but SEXY scene, LOL!!
  • Matchstick Men: When he discovers that he's been scammed by his partner, he runs out from the hospital with his back(and butt of course...biggrin) naked... hehehe...
  • Captain Corelli's Mandolin: When he finishes playing the Pelagia's Song, he looks her in the eyes... very affectionate, isn't he?
  • City of Angels: Maggie blames herself and weeps for being not able to save the patient, then he comes along to comfort her. How romatic!!
  • It Could Happen to You: I wish Nic and I were the best partner in MLB, LOL!!

Ok, I want to warn you beforehand: youīre in for some long winded ramblings of mine... Sorry, Iīm lying on the couch with nothing else to do at the moment... If youīre in a hurry, stop reading right here, LOL.

When Iīm wathching some Nic movies for the second time (Ok, Iīm not fooling anybody: for the umpteenth time LOL) I anticipate with pleasure some little moments in which I know heīs gonna go off-center and do something totally unexpected. They are like his trademark, so to say, tokens of his inventiveness, a treat to us fans (and an excuse for his detractors to run him down).

Hereīs a sample of my fave ones:

  • Zandalee: after destroying his own paintings he covers his almost naked body in black paint while yelling: "Black it out! Black it out!" Itīs such a magnificient release of negative frustration and pain, so powerful and refreshing. I just wish I could to that, but I donīt want to splash the furniture black LOL
  • In Leaving Las Vegas heīs in the motel room packing his luggage to move with Sera and talking to her like sheīs there (which she isnīt).Talking like that to absent people... who has not done it some time?
  • In Guarding Tess, he receives a phone call from the President of the United States... while heīs on the toilet seat. And heīs so polite that he actually is about to stand up from the lavatory out of respect an all LOL. BTW, this scene is hysterical and worthy of praise because for the whole phone call we canot see his mouth or the rest of his face (covered by the receiver) but only his eyes.... and he manages to convey all his emotions only through the eyes.
  • In The Weather Man heīs having breakfast while rehearsing the hand movements heīs gonna use on TV while reporting the weather onscreen. And he actually signals his way up the corridor like it was the right way to go LOL
  • Oh and donīt forget all his antics to cheer up his daughter and make her laugh and feel more confident when heīs buying her new clothes to avoid the.... er... cameltoe problem. Heīs just so charming!
  • In Bangkok Dangerous he returns to the pharmacy to ask the counter girl out but cannot figure out a way to approach to her... He stands in front of the shelves of meds lost in thought and his gaze is horrific, like a grotesque defenseless child
  • I happen to love the way he delivers his lines as Acid Yellow in Sonny. I guess a guy from this particular background could talk like that while high on coke...
  • And I love the little laugh Donald Kaufman gives in Adaptation when he realizes heīs been shot by Laroche: "Iīve been shot, isnīt that f*** up?"
  • In Vampireīs Kiss heīs got a whole sequence in which he tries to escape Rachel (supposedly a she-vampire) but she fetches him and leads him upstairs back to his flat. Heīs acting all the time like he was in a slo mo silent movie. It took some guts to do that Nic, way to go!
  • In Time to Kill heīs got a terrible toothache and has to be urgently taken to the dentist in a military truck. He has not painkillers there, so he takes a bundle of letters with a picture of his wife on top and applies them to his cheek to soothe the pain. Itīs so sweet.
  • In Valley Girl he melancholy whistles a little flute while heīs in despair looking at the San Fernando Valley because his antics are not getting Julie back to him
  • In Honeymoon in Vegas heīs in the middle of a fight and shouting in frustration to his fiery girlfriend and while sheīs yelling at him he goes and suddenly grabs an apple and takes a furious bite... so anticlimax and for some reason it works just fine!
  • In Wild at Heart heīs working out lying with his back on the bed while Lula talks to him from the bathroom... and heīs holding a radio on the sole of his feet and holding the plug cable over his nose for some reason only known to him I guess LOL
  • In The Cotton Club heīs having an argument with his brother over the kidnapping of some rival mobster and suddenly he goes and jumps on the bed out of nowhere to gather some authority over his brother as heīs
  • Ok, hereīs one I hate: in Deadfall, a movie I donīt care for and which actually gives me the willies, he has an amazing scene. Amazing as in I-canīt-believe- my-eyes. He actually throws a no barriers tantrum. He throwns himself on the bed and screams in frustration exactly like a four-year-old would do. That took some guts too, Nic and Christopher.
  • The way he punches the roof of the car in frustration while driving in Red Rock West is priceless
  • In Snake Eyes heīs repeatedly pinching and bending and flexing his neck, like he wanted to relax and just couldnīt find a way to release his energy overload
  • In Trapped in Paradise he pretends to be much more dignified than his pathetic siblings, but heīs in his sitting room watching some fifties B movie full of invaders from Mars, sitting upright on a stool too close to the TV set and holding an absurd sloppy stuffed dog in his arms... LOL
  • In Windtalkers, in a deleted scene, he actually laughs out loud when he realises his men are being shot at by friendly fire. A perfect desperate bitter laugh, as if he got a kick out of the whole situation
Enough now... LOL. I donīt know why I made this invetory actually... Maybe you can share some of your favorite Nic moments, because thereīs many more... with him thereīs always much more than hits the eye.
