As far as my poem.....I think it's long gone on an old floppy somewhere. I used to save all my poems only on floppies and discs but now I'm starting to save them the old fashioned way as welll...on hardcopy...cuz I lost so many of them for one reason or another.

What a beautiful tapestry! You have to adire all of the hard work that goes into producing something like that!
Please have another look for your poem, Bonnie, you know how I love all things Arthurian
Here's a song that only mentions tapestry once but it's a beautiful song anyway
PIECES OF OUR HEART by All About Eve
I had a dream that we were skating The ice was thin and we were waiting to fall right in However deep the truth is hidden once you know it's still forbidden It doesn't feel right We can throw it away And pieces of our heart remain unbroken Just like the chain that binds us Just like the rain that finds us sheltering again Just like the chemistry All woven into tapestry by hands of Fate, and love and hate and sad guitars and stars If it feels right we can't throw it away They're pieces of our heart we can't tear it apart They're pieces of our heart we never needed to know And so we remain unspoken
Here's another tapestry....this one of Sir Lancelot and Guinevere..... Believe it or not I once wrote a poem about them.....but now I can't find it anywhere in my journals. Oh well....
So today I got started thinking about Knights and Castles and Damsels in distress and being that I have a grasshopper mind, I then began thinking about tapestries. (I'm weird, I know....). Anyhooo......I love tapestries and actually have a very large one hanging in my living room behind my piano. Anyway....I got to thinking how Medieval tapestries often featured KNIGHTS in them. Next thing I knew I was humming the old Carol King song "Tapestry"....and well......all that has spawned this post!
How about if people share songs that feature either 'tapestry' or 'knights' or even 'witches' in them or post a pic of a tapestry in this thread?
Here's my offerings...
Carol King....TAPESTRY
My life has been a tapestry Of rich and royal hue; An everlasting vision Of the ever-changing view; A wond'rous woven magic In bits of blue and gold; A tapestry to feel and see; Impossible to hold.
Once amid the soft silver Sadness in the sky, There came a man of fortune; A drifter passing by. He wore a torn and tattered cloth Around his leathered hide And a coat of many colors; Yellow, green, on either side.
He moved with some uncertainty As if he didn't know Just what he was there for Or where he ought to go. Once he reached for something Golden hanging from a tree And his hand came down emp-ty.
Soon within my tapestry, Along the rutted road, He sat down on a river rock And turned into a toad. It seemed that he had fallen Into someone's wicked spell And I wept to see him suffer, Though I didn't know him well.
As I watched in sorrow, There suddenly appeared A fi gure gray and ghostly Beneath a flowing beard. In times of deepest darkness I've seen him dressed in black. Now my tapestry's unraveling; He's come to take me back. He's come to take me back.
