Thanks for your review, OnlyNic! It was very interesting to read your views on MM.
I too think we can find a similar moral in both Matchstick Men and The Family Man stories... In MM, Roy was grateful to Angela because she had taken him out of his isolation and taught him to allow others reach him. Previous to knowing her, he was a man plagued by neurotic guilt. It´s a good thing he got swindled in the end, because in return for his money he got something worthier than all his riches.
Unfortunately these things only happen in movies, namely in American movies, LOL!
It's a great movie. The story was a bit of complicated, but that's also why it was so fascinating. The interaction between Roy and Angela was subtle--- he was startled at first, but later he accepted the truth and got along well with her. However, after a failure in a big case, Angela left Roy and that made him decide to get back to a normal life. I think he did all out of love for her; because he had treated his ex-wife badly, he'd like to make things up by taking good care of this girl, who he was told to be his daughter. Ironically, it was this love that Roy got scammed by his partner Frank in the end; more surprisingly, Angela wasn't his "real" daughter. In my opinion, Roy became a "true" good man and knew the importance of family after all these events; that mattered much more than how much money he had got by scamming others before. This film is similar to The Family Man, but they were presented in different ways. To be short, I love it!!
p.s. There is only one drawback in this film. Remember Roy said "Look what I learned from Taiwan." to Angela when they were playing bowling? He didn't hit any bowling pin; what's worse, it was a gutter ball!! Hey, there are still many people who master it here in Taiwan! That line misled foreign viewers!!
I loved this movie, and the fact that he was... obbsesive Cumpolsive was it? t was amazing .. i really thought it was very well done and he was good in it. Though end made me mad at first though :( but i was happy everything turned out.

I just have one comment--somebody tell me that was a stunt double's butt in that shot with the hospital gown--YIKES! (Ok, OK, I admit it, I had to delay 10 minutes on the end of the movie cause I couldn't bring myself to take the shot out of pause--bad woman!)
