Keeper, the scene you mention in which he wakes up twice in a row from his nightmare really got me! And I didn´t care too much for the movie either... Even though I loved the discussions between Nic and Ellen Burstin... the male chauvinist vs. the she-devil, LOL!! I found their repartee very clever and funny. Willow´s lines were annoying though.
i didn't even know it was a remake when it came out i'm sad to say! me being so out of it...
i saw it on demand back in march and i'm also sad to say it wasn't nearly as fun as i was hoping... i must admit i had seen the youtube vid of all the "best" parts (ones that taken out of context just made the movie look bat**** insane and random haha!) ... but with it so built up in my mind it didn't quite work as an entertaining movie on a serious OR more weirdo level
but lord some of those bits were just golden... how'd it get burned ahh the bees they're going in my eyes haha! and when he wakes up with the body in his arms... then wakes up from THAT!
I hated this movie. The entire thing was Nic Cage running around, wearing the same expression and screaming at people. I did find the movie hilarious though, like when he runs around in a bear suit, punching crazy amish lesbians, and when he dropkicks another one into a wall, when he steals a bike, when he yells at little kids, when he gets stung by bees and gets his legs broken, the crazy women in costumes, and most of all, when he gets burned by his kid. Basically the entire movie sucked, but it was incredibly funny.

Nicolas Cage is a fucking loser. He should never have been in any movie.
I enjoyed this film until the end.. it is the only film i have seen were he actually gets killed... i knoe he kind of dies in face off but u dont c it has such.. I hope theres not going to be many were we see him die
well i liked both versions. when watching this one i tried to think of it as a seperate entity and not comparing to original so i'm able to say i liked both for different reasons. the original was more "wierd" this strangness was what i liked. nic's version was a little easier for mainstream to handle...it focused more on the direct ritual of the harvest festival i also liked how prominent women were. in a lot of peagan/celtic historically women weren't subseveint and it made more sense for women to be in the forefront i also iddn't like the cop character in the original he was so judgemental, which is why he was so intent on finding the girl w/ nic's version it was becuase of he's connection w/ the mom and daughter(which it was mentioned on another thread that how could he not know, simple if she left as soon as she found out then how would he know esspecially going to a secluded island) i could feel for this guy, the original i had real distain for him...as far as the endings they should have went w/ the new ending it would have been a harder rating but the reviews would have been better so inturn that would have brought in more $$$$
