What I keep thinking to myself is this....Nic Cage supposedly loves to get a reaction out of the audience. In that, he has achieved his dream with The Wickerman! Kudos to Nic!
I'd bet top dollar that this version of the WM will become a cult flick just like the first version!

I don't see why it got such incredibly AWFUL reviews, either. By far, it wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen. Maybe it's because the IDEA of a remake was hated from the genesis? And, because of that feeling alone, there was an element that if remade, they'd better do the first film total justice, that the remake better be spectacular? I don't know really.
I don't think the remake WAS spectacular, but it sure doesn't deserve the flak it's catching.

I think that I recall that Mr. Cage said that the DVD will contain the scenes that have been edited out of the theater version.
I thought the movie was very good! I saw the original about a year ago, and La Bute's version is different, but I like it all the more because Cage was in it. Too bad it got awful reviews.
I hate to say it but the movie wasn't really a horror flick. What you say that they took out of it before it went to the theaters might have made it closer to that reality.
"Apparently they cut the footage of Nicolas Cage getting his knees broken, stung to death by a mask of bees and brought back to life with adreneline before being dragged to the Wicker Man!!"

all i can tell you is the original is available on dvd now. i am the movie girl at my store ( i stock, reset, deal w/ promotions etc...) i'll see what i can find out
I went to see the Wicker Man at the weekend and thought it was ok despite the awful reviews (Average Reviews gave it 1 out of 5 and the best review I saw for the film gave it a 3 out of 5). What did you think of it?
I wish they hadn't cut the more graphic footage out just to get a lower rating so kids could come along. Apparently they cut the footage of Nicolas Cage getting his knees broken, stung to death by a mask of bees and brought back to life with adreneline before being dragged to the Wicker Man!!
Does anyone know if they will be releasing an uncut version of this film on dvd?
