in religious history, the actual Saint Nicholas was one of the early Church fathers. a firebrand competing cleric argued a great deal that Jesus was not the Son of God (St. Arius) --
St. Nicholas got his legend installed for punching St. Arius in the nose on the floor of the clerical building where the early Church Fathers were discussing doctrine.
centuries later, we get this guy.

look at this intro as my way of wiping my feet before stepping into the dark and deep actor's virtual abode. Emotional range is the deep talent that Nic brings...
i recently watched most of Casablanca. Hadn't seen it before -- it's on demand for 4 bucks, which is still all right for a film.
Humphrey Bogart wasn't much in the way of emotional range, but he was the best Humphrey Bogart of all time.
Nic has considerably more range, another proof for the existance of evolution. My tears flow thinking that American cinema refuses to put out the sort of things that really would allow Cage to show off how far he can go in terms of acting chops...but these are repressed, imaginary "1984" and we all stare at the same Viewscreens.
