He seems like such an incredibly strong, brave person. He's been through so much, been constantly criticized for even the most successful choices that he makes, yet he forges on. No wonder he questions his Hollywood status. Nick, no worries. Your star shines brighter than all of them. You illuminate in the universe where most just fizzle and fade, boy. Don't sweat it. People will be jealous, of course. That's bound to happen when you are a planet among wannabe rockets who can barely twitter off the ground to launch. Relax . . . .lol . . . . It makes me smile to think of how over the years Nic's contemporaries have grapplied with similar choices, made similar errors of judgement, and some have not become as commercially successful but have gained more critical acclaim and still resent him. It comes down to the bottom line. Do you need a loan? Just ask for it. . . . I am sure Nic would help you out. He seems cool. If you didn't bitch and moan so much, maybe you could have what he has just by asking for some financial assistance rather than staging a hissy fit. Really folks . . . .isn't there a book about Everything We Ever Needed to Know We Learned in Kindergarten or something like that? Share, folks. Learn to share. Learn to smile. Learn gratitude. It's not that hard. Nic's learned to move on. That's a big one to. Forgiveness is huge. Learn to forgive. and LEARN TO FORGET >>>>>>>>>> Nic seems to have all of these sandbox virtues covered. Kal is so lucky and blessed. It's already probably well reflected in Weston, but I have never met his oldest son.

i watched him on tv since 2 months or more ... at an interview about National Treasure on an arabic channel... he said similar words about being different with difficult roles even this roles make him tired and discomfort , but he allways feel comfort when he watched his work finally ... in my opinion his successful action & adventure movies besides their artistic value they gave him the chance to establish his own production company to present his opinions and arts as the article mentioned
I think it's so funny that he doesn't seem to see himself as a big movie star. I guess it's all a matter of perception, and if you're in the "business" perhaps you measure yourself against other actors who earn more or get more roles.
Here is a just a little, if you want to read the whole article I have provided the link.
Nicolas Cage feels his best when he feels uncomfortable. With two radically different roles in movies on the fall schedule -- a cocky black-market gun dealer in "Lord of War," opening Friday, and an insecure TV forecaster in "The Weather Man," opening Oct. 28 -- he's feeling more uneasy than usual these days.
Which, by his perspective, is terrific.
"I don't want to feel comfortable in anything I do," he said by phone during a break in filming for "The Wicker Man," a movie slated for release next year. "I think that's one of the keys to being artistic, to be willing to step outside the box, to do things that challenge you."
That philosophy probably costs him money, but he doesn't care.
"I probably could be a much bigger move star if I just created one image and kept cashing in on it over and over again," he acknowledged. "But I would feel trapped doing that."
