RE: Have to share a 'funny' today.....

I loved your story! you know you mentioned you didn't understand why it wasn't a summer blockbuster, when the review first came out in the Sunday paper, I didn't understand the plot, I re-read it, at any rate Nic's got a winner of a poster at Blockbuster's store front window for Kick Ass. alot of people use that particular store, since it's right at the shopping center.

you know this is the hood, I hear people talking all around town, they won't see "no movie unless there's a brother" in it," there words to be exact.

Another reason, around here the movie house caters to the very young, 'date nite" or the very old "seniors". So people are more comfortable renting video's nowadays in the comfort of their own home, I think alot of people wait until it hits the video store, so they can watch at their own leisure, they can pause it, stop it, rewind to replay a funny part, they can be a slob, and have popcorn all over their belly, who's to know?

There's alot of people who are raising families around so maybe
the budget isn't there, or they want something more innocent to take the kids to go see, tell you one thing invest in a Blockbuster Video Store you'll make out alright.

Ok....for those of you who have been around the Nicster halls for a long time, you'll know that I used to get the oddest "Nicsigns" imaginable.  I still do to some degree but not alot anymore.  Anyway.....today I got a fun one.

When Sorcerer's Apprentice came out I went to see it.  I truly enjoyed the movie and found it a wonderful family movie.  Just a fun movie for all ages.  Why it hasn't been a summer blockbuster is beyond my comprehension.  Anyhooo......in the movie, Balthazar's love interest is named Veronica.   I always think of the cartoon/comic book characters Archie and Veronica when I hear the name Veronica....and true to form the Veronica in the movie had long flowing dark locks much like the comic book Veronica.  But I digress.

Today I had to run a few errands on lunch and I had to give the lady at the counter my debit card to pay for my purchases.  So after running the card, she turns to me and says out of the blue "Is your name Veronica?".   I was like....."Um....dingbat.....you just saw my card.  I didn't say that of course.....and I said.....NO, my name is Bonnie".   She then smiles brightly and says......."My mother's name is Veronica but everyone calls her Bonnie".

I think I almost choked!   I mean......how odd!   I always knew that Ronnie and Vonnie were nicknames for Veronica but Bonnie?

Anyhooo........it was a lovely......moment.   :)
