I kinda know what she was talking about but why in a Nic Cage discussion group? Maybe this should be in the chit chat section? Just my opinion. Very deep discussion material. Makes one think. I know it did to me.
I would think it pretty much means that once you consciously give up control and the need to control others to a higher power, for whatever reason, life becomes settled, happier and manageable.
Someone who tries to constantly control themselves, every situation and other people aren't allowing themselves to simply BE who they really are. This creates tremendous inner conflict, guilt, shame, anger, lonliness and distrust.
The same goes for someone who allows others to control them or their emotions or who gives up their own personal control to another.
It's a catch 22 situation all the way around.
