MELBOURNE designer Toni Maticevski has unleashed his stunning, delicately tailored concoctions on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week.
Maticevski's collection has received positive reviews from various online fashion sites.
His show-stopping gowns -- perfect for an awards night, premiere, or film festival opening -- in particular drew raves from fashion critics.
``(Maticevski's) collection ventured on the fairytale, with silk, tulle and organza creations in dove grey and steely blue -- perfect for the red carpet, complete with chignons,'' wrote one fashion watcher.
Another Australian getting attention was actor Teresa Palmer. Palmer, who is rumoured to have landed a starring role in Mad Max 4, was enjoying the limelight in the front row of the Jason Wu show.
Attending New York Fashion Week for the first time, she told reporters she was in the Big Apple to do reshoots for the Jerry Bruckheimer film The Sorcerer's Apprentice, inwhich she stars alongside Nicolas Cage.
``I actually do all my own stunts in it,'' Palmer said. ``I was like, `You know, I'm an Aussie girl; I'm tough; I want to stick it out and do it'.''
