A Glastonbury woman has won an opportunity to meet Hollywood star Nicolas Cage through a competition in this newspaper.

The A list celebrity will be switching on the Christmas lights for Bath, and then Yvonne Gay, of Edgarley, will get to meet the star at an exclusive drinks reception in the city.

Yvonne, an artist, told the paper that Mr Cage had actually bought one of her paintings, adding: "It was lovely because he bought a painting from me and this one was particularly special. It will be nice to spend five minutes with him."

Yvonne said that she had heard that Mr Cage was very down to earth, as some of her friends who work at Glastonbury's Chalice Well had met him before.
