Angie, you´re right in that what means bankrupcy for a millionaire like Nic would spell riches for most us average citizens. Too many people in the first world have lost everything in these unfortunate times, and have nowhere to look for a little hope. What´s more, what we average citizens throw in the garbage on a daily basis could sustain a whole family for a fortnight in the third world... That´s an inconvenient reminder we cast aside not to feel horribly guilty and carry on living oblivious lives despite the greatest famine ever hitting most of the Earth´s population. But, you know, since this is a forum about Nic Cage, it was him we were talking about specifically.
Unfortunately I happen to be very close to a case that bears some similarities to Nic´s. I´m a witness to the suffering that major debts and bankrupcy can cause. The well-to-do are entitled to get anxious and depressed by financial woes, just like anybody else, if we put things in perspective.
Having said that, I want to let you know that I sympathise with your post. Voices in favor of the poor aren´t heard that often in public, and it´s refreshing to hear them speak loud and clear and make us pay attention, and for that I commend you. But sure enough, the shyconphantic label you put on us is not going to make you very popular either, LOL! I don´t consider myself a brown-noser. Only a person who´s got some kind of neurotic leaning toward a public person (sufficiently explained below) and wanted to show my support for him in this trying time, that´s all.
Thanks for your support and your good wishes for Nic too, BTW. They mean a lot considering your opinions.
Oh, I forgot to add... Please feel free to speak your mind, anytime. It´s wonderful to be able to discuss things from different viewpoints and respectfully beg to differ, that´s what forums are for!

hello everyone i wanted to put my opinion about nics money problems. i know you are nic fans but this thread is so sycophantic, as much as I love nic i dont feel sorry for him, he's got more money than most of you will see in a lifetime. how can they say nic cant pay back a $6m loan when he owns houses with million dollar price tags. if nic is totally broke surely it was up to him to keep an eye on the people who were handling his finances. i dont think nic is totally broke, surely he's got the brains to have offshore bank accounts or a swiss bank account. there are people out there with REAL money worries, these are the people i feel sorry for, people on low incomes or low wages who really are hard up and will never know what it's like to be rich. i know my opinion will make me unpopular but its my opinion and just for the record i still love nic and i wish him well during this tough time but just remember there are people who are a lot worse off out there.

Just wanted to say how truly sorry I am at the sad news that Nic is in fact in deep financial trouble after being wronged by one crook of an advisor. Our poor guy must feel like s-h-i-t... And that WORRIES me big time. I just hope he gets duly support to help him get through this nightmare as unscathed as possible.
You know, for some neurotic reasons of my own I feel for him. And I´m anxious at the prospect that he could be feeling utterly downhearted, even depressed, during this tough time of his life.... but on the other hand, I´m confident he will pull through eventually. You provided a much needed touch of phantasy to my life, for which I couldn´t be more grateful.Many people in the biz are going to bash you now with a vengeance, please ignore them. I wish you could feel all of your fan´s gratefulness and this could be of some help to you now. We will always care, despite what public opinion could say. Be brave, this will pass!!
The pic below is a railway tunnel in Midford (thanks to John-C for this wonderful pic BTW). It´s been my screen wallpaper for a long time, until I could be able to walk from the shadows and into the light. Hope Nic can do the same soon.
