Well... I for one think the pic could be authentic. I once read Nic himself say in an old interview that he wanted to take this iconic character to a different level, show how he felt lonely and isolated and misunderstood for being different, wearing a costume that was all there, and even doing his hair like a sumo fighter! Imagine that. And Tim Burton obviously wouldn´t be comfortable filming a conventional superhero movie, sooo... why not??

I´ts only that the mental image of Nic´s Superman we all have in mind could just be a far cry from the one he and Burton had in mind...

I think pics of Nic in a superman costume are photoshopped however, I did read where, at one time or another, Nic really wanted to play the role of Superman, so much so, for the audition he dawned a superman-like costume.

I know at one time, when Tim Burton was helming the project, he was all for Nic playing the role but producers wanted a different look plus their were some problems with the screenwriting.  Ultimately, THAT Superman project was shelved. 

Though, they should have given Nic a shot because if Nic can play Ghostrider, he could have played superman.
