RE: suggestions: off the beaten path place to spend your vacation...

They are most definitely wonderful places to behold.....I hope you can get there some day!

Excellent choice, Gerlfacon! But be careful, Nic used to call Alcatraz a "germ zoo" while shooting there...

And Bonnie: how fortunate you´ve been to have gone to those wonderful places. I´ll write them down in my "to do" list!

Two of my favorite vacations have def been "off the beaten path".

One was Tree-house camping at Maho Bay.  The other was houseboating on Lake Powell.

Alcatraz is my first choice! It's such a great adventure... love to do something different while on vacation.biggrin

... just an idea. Instead of the obviously pleasant places, like the heavenly wooden Lake Tahoe cabin of COA, the tiny but charming Village apartment of Ivonne in ICHTY, the house with sprawling sea views of Tommy Corman in Hawaii in HIV.... What about being a true original and choosing to spend your summer holidays in misantropic paradises like, say, Big Tuna, Texas, in WAH, or better still, Red Rock West, Iowa, in RRW??

Who would you choose for a holiday companion? I think I´d better catch a ride with Sailor Ripley in his convertible, or with Michael Williams (as a train hobo, LOL!)... they would surely show me more interesting places... a Coney Island of the mind, hehehe...

What locations in Nic´s movies would you spend your vacation in, and why? Share your views!
