Hollywood action man NICOLAS CAGE showed off his softer side after he ditched a movie wrap party to chat to a homeless fan standing outside.

 

The actor became acquaintances with the vagrant while filming upcoming adventure film The Sorcerer's Apprentice in New York City, as the man often stopped by the set.

And Cage expressed his gratitude for the support by snubbing the movie's wrap party at New York night club Greenhouse to chat to his new friend last week (ends19Jul09).

According to the New York Daily News, Cage and producer Jerry Bruckheimer both "went outside and spent a lot of time with the man. They thanked him for supporting the film."
