On my way home yesterday walking past Bryant Partk I walked onto the set of The Sorcerers Apprentice; random but interesting. The film, which stars Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel will release in 2010. As it turns out the film is a realistic copy of the age old Disney movie Fantasia. However, both are based off of the older poetic version wherein a Sorcerer grants powers to his broom.  In Fantasia the cleaning tool was given powers to do work for Mickey, but I read the broom in this movie will have a mind of its own.  Doom, Doom, Doom!  I never really understood the film as a child, but hopefully Nicolas adds pizzazz to the fable.  There was no sighting of Jay, but Nicolas walked into the middle of the street in this long cape inspired leather jacket accompanied by a stylish 50s inspired automobile. He repeatedly walked down the block and hopped into the car, which then moseyed down the street. Without much dialogue its hard to tell, but it seemed like the beginning of a moderately appealing action scene; well have to wait and see.
