LOL! Rapa Nui porn, huh? I had no idea... what has the world come to, hehehe??
Well, my fave ancient risque decorations so far are in the Khajuraho temple in India. Never been there (yet) but from the sight of it, it must be a very stimulating place... (no links... hey, we´ve got minors here).
oooohhh very interesting...and that it was given as a gift makes it even more of an intrigue! Do let us know if your co worker finds out the meaning of the words and therefore I guess the meaning of the gift!
Funny, I was reading and writing about the mysterious wooden tablets retrieved from Easter Island the other day, they now exist in different museums across the world and the meaning of the Rongorongo carvings in them has still not been deciphered...although I did read something quite amusing that said it might be ancient pornography (more likely creation stories! And no disrespect meant, it just amused me to contemplate that about something so revered )
I hope your friend's turns out to be a far more easily solveable mystery!!

Dear Nicsters... I have a query for our Asian friends. It´s a short story really.
One of my co-workers is married to a judge. He received a valuable gift from a Chinese representative: a gorgeous box covered in silk containing an ancient document... Real classy stuff. The thing is, it was never made clear what the document was about. It could be an account of the habits and customs of some past era or a treasure map for all I know (I´m imagining that in my wildest fantasies of course).
I took pics and scans... Would you be so kind as to tell me what´s the subject of the book( if you can make it out), please? I´m not asking you to translate the whole thing of course, only to give me some general idea of what´s it about, in a sentence or two... I´m totally curious about this and would be very grateful... It sounds so interesting, and the paper feels so old when you touch and smell it, and the whole thing is so intriguing!
Thank you so much for your help my dear friends!
