Being myself an expert on 16th century German mystic, Jacob Boehme, it was interesting to hear Cage make mention of him:

In the second week of February 2007 while appearing on the Jay Leno show promoting his new movie Ghost Rider, Cage stated that one of his great interestswas 16th century German mysticism, which can only be meant the writings of Jacob Boehme, a prolific author of Neoplatonic-like mysticism and speculation about the One (Godhead).

The ONLY "16th century German Mystic" was Jacob Boehme, a very very prolific author of profound metaphysics

HOW DO I KNOW THIS??.simple,..his favorite author JACOB BOEHME most famous passage is:

  "If I should describe to you the Godhead in the greatest depth, it is thus: as if a wheel stood before you that as it were seven wheels, one made into another. Seven principles of the Godhead. They are forever giving birth to one another, and it as if when one wheel turned, it in like turned another; it is as if there were seven wheels, one inside another, and one always turned differently from the others, and the seven wheels were rimmed one within another like a round spheros. And the seven hubs of the seven wheels in their center were like one hub which moved around all over the place as it turned, and the wheels, forever giving birth to the same hubs, and the one hub forever giving birth to the seven spokes of all seven wheels".-Jacob Boehme

FROM THE MOVIE KNOWING which I just saw.....There is a scene at the end of the movie where there is a mystical wheel within wheel within wheel!!!!!!!

also at the very very end of the movie, there is a mystical white tree.......ALSO A FAMOUS PASSAGE FROM HIS FAVORITE AUTHOR,  JACOB BOEHME!!!!!

I know 100% CERTAIN that Nick Cage wrote this himself into the script..!!!
