Okay......I am having a sort of Surreal Visual with this quote....
"his performance is comic book meets Wild At Heart, with Raising Arizona thrown in"

Thaks for sharing Liz... the director sounds so enthusiastic about Nic´s performance that it makes me want to see it RIGHT NOW! Whithout waiting for the editing process! Mr Vaughn, show us the dailies pretty pleaaase....
thought you girls might be interested in the following quote from Matthew Vaughn, director of Kick-Ass, as quoted in latest edition of Empire Mag, in their 20 must see movies of 2009 list - (although strangely enough Knowing is not in the list)
......another strong feature of Vaughn's films is his casting, and after landing Robert De Niro to play a gay pirate in Stardust, his coup here is Nicolas Cage as the mysterious Big Daddy. "i sent it to his agent and said Please give it to Nick. i explained that he'd love it and..he did! i just needed someone to understand the comic book references to all the other comic book films, and he got it immediately. he made Big Daddy believable, loveable and insane enough! i mean he really knows his stuff. his son's called Kal-El for God's sake! but the way i'd describe his performance is comic book meets Wild At Heart, with Raising Arizona thrown in. and he's done it justice like you wouldn't believe!"
sounds like this one is gonna be awesome - can't wait to see it - ETA in cinemas late 2009. xx
So naturally, when we recently caught up with Mintz-Plasse, we had to ask him whether Kick Ass will, well do exactly that.
I hope so, the 19-year-old actor told MTV. Thats all I can say is that I hope it will kick-ass. I dont personally kick-ass in it, but other people kick-ass in it, and the movie will be kick-ass.
Like the comic series, the flick will follow Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), an ordinary New York teen who decides to become a real-life superhero. Mintz-Plasse has been cast as the wannabe-superpowered Red Mist, while Cage will play a former cop who has trained his 11-year-old daughter to be a vigilante.
Oh my god, man, he kicks more ass than in that movie Next, Mintz-Plasse said of Cage. He kicks more ass than he does in that; its insane. Ive seen some of the footage and he is insane in it.
Most importantly to Millars loyal fans, however, is how closely Stardust director Matthew Vaughn plans to stick by their beloved comic series. The only thing that is not loyal is my costume, Mintz-Plasse explained. It looks different than the costume in the comic; but everything else is the same. I remember some people were not happy about Wanted, because it was nothing like the comic. But this is dead-on.
That is what Matthew wanted to do, the former McLovin beamed. And he made it happen.
The stars and filmmakers are so pleased with the flick, in fact, that theyre already talking sequel. Were hopeful, revealed Mintz-Plasse. I would have a pretty big part in the second one, if [the first Kick-Ass] does well in the box office.
