Okay....i just counted the change in my money jug and I've got $62.47 to put into the "kitty".   Maybe if we all pool our money we can raise enough money to send one of us to meet Nic?    LOL!

The bid is up to $2,450 already! Great that the money goes to charity.smile.gif

How I'd love a day on the set of this particular film, it ain't gonna happen for me though unless that sorceror waves his magic wand in my direction, or Turteltaub relocates filming to my place! Lol.

Now why did I have to go and start thinking about magic wands...wink.gif

True.......it doesn't say you'll actually get to meet Nic.......but somehow I do think he'll have the good grace to "just happen on by" the set the day the winner gets to hang around on it. 

It's for a good cause and me thinks Nic would be the kind of man to do the right thing....

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I think it's important to say this coz it's alot of cash, it doesn't actually say in the bid details that it is to meet Nic..just various cast members....and the donation was made by Turteltaub.
Still a very very cool thing though for four lucky people to spend a day on the set ! And who knows!?biggrin.gif

New York, NY (CNS) - The Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be holding an online auction in February that will give fans the chance to bid on various celebrity packages to raise money for a good cause.

The auction has been organized by Stand Up For A Cure. Fans of Barry Manilow can bid for two chances to meet the singer backstage at concerts in Las Vegas and New York, along with front row tickets to see his show. The package also includes a pre-concert reception with an open bar and a chance to have photos taken with Manilow and Kelly Ripa, who will host the show in New York at the Nassau Coliseum.


Other packages include a chance to meet Nicolas Cage and hang out on the set of his new movie or own a jersey signed by hockey great Wayne Gretzky. Music fans can also bid on 2 gold level tickets to the Grammy's or score a one hour meeting with music mogul Allen Grubman.


The auction ends on January 7. Stand Up For A Cure is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to eradicating lung cancer.
