Report: Nicholas Cage's Malibu Home Sells For $10 Million LOS ANGELES -- Actor Nicolas Cage has sold his Malibu home for about $10 million, but he still has homes in Bel-Air and New Orleans, it was reported on Sunday. The Oscar-winning actor bought his two-bedroom Malibu home overlooking a pool and the ocean in 1997 for about $3.6 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Cage, who had remodeled the beach house built in 1973, had been renting it for the past year and sold it to the tenants, Ruth Ryon reported in her weekly "Hot Property" column. The 41-year-old actor, who won a best actor Oscar for his role as suicidal alcoholic in the 1995 movie "Leaving Las Vegas," appears in "The Weather Man," which is due out in April. Cage married to Alice Kim. The couple are expecting their first child, according to the paper.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony also have a new home -- in Bel-Air. The couple bought the five-bedroom Tuscan-style villa on less than an acre for $6.4 million, The Times reported. The 7,300-square-foot home built in 1941 has features a guesthouse/studio, pool and formal gardens. Lopez and Anthony, who married in June, also have homes in Miami and New York. In October, Lopez sold her Beverly Hills home, complete with furnishings, for about $12.5 million.
The longtime Bel-Air home of the late actors Jim Backus -- Thurston Howell III from "Gillian's Island" -- and wife Henny is on the market for $2.75 million, the paper reported. Backus died in 1989 at age 76, and Henny, who played Cora Dithers in the 1960s sitcom "Blondie," died in December at age 93. The traditional, three-bedroom home built in 1933 covers about 3,400 square feet and features French doors that open to a flagstone patio and park-like grounds, including a pool. Bobbie Ross at Prudential John Aaroe, Beverly Hills, has the listing.
