Which movie do u like the Most???

Resident Evil
Awesome Movie, I love all the part of resident evil ,this time Alice is back ,the first part is all action where the Alice clones all die and Alice becomes human, and then the middle is sorta the zombies killing all the black guys, then the ending is them saving like 2,000 people aboard an umbrella ship.

Family Man is a favorite of mine!
also gotta mention Peggy Sue. This is one of my mom's absolute favorite movies ever and I remember watching this over and over with her when I was little!

You're right Mara!

Everyone has a dark side and is capable of doing things they never in their wildest dreams thought they could..........but Evil....pure EVIL is a terrifying thing.......it's inhuman............

Like Hitler..........

He did what he did and got millions of others to do what he wanted....why?  Because he could.......because he had control and people can become willing victims without even knowing they've been sucked into Evil.

Scary............

I agree with you both: 8mm was more hellish than it seemed, in the sense that... this guy Tom Welles, who had a dark side carefully hidden like all of us, let his own beast run rampant to avenge the wrong, but... after killing all those monsters and having seen all that evil and having caused so much pain... he couldn´t possibly get back to normal and be content with playing hide-and-seek with his wife to smoke a clandestine cigarette now and then. The original script was more brutal. But the producers had pity on the audience I guess, and ended the movie with a hint of hope, which is a wonderful feeling because, as Bonnie says, he seemed to come to terms with his pending karmas to fix his troubled mindset.

This movie was far more scary to me than all the conventional horror movies I´ve seen so far. Pure evil is horrifying.... I remember the answer the fake lawyer gives Wells when he asks why did his boss commission a snuff movie: "Because he could, he did it because he could. What other answer were you waiting for?" That rings so TRUE. People do these things because their audacity gives them a free pass beyond any norms or considerations.

You're right Liz........8MM isn't only a movie about sadistic porn and the seedy underworld, it's a movie about a man who can't get what he's seen or done out of his head.

That, in itself, guarantees a lifetime of pain for that person unless he can somehow be 'saved'.

Of course, no one can be saved by another.  Only people can save themselves by making themselves do what needs to be done....ie.....in this case.....counseling of some sort.

8MM was a very emotional film for me. i felt that the story was about the emotional journey that Tom Wells went on - discovering all about the seedy world of porno and snuff movies as opposed to the snuff movies themselves. it was really harrowing in some places seeing his reaction to the stuuf that he saw. the bit near the end where he walks into his bedroom and breaks down in front of his wife and asks her to save him is a tear jerker. its so sad..xx

Welcome to the forum, Drewlovescage (your screen name is so cool). Vampire´s Kiss is one of my faves too... You´ll enjoy every new Nic flick you see, as each one of them unfold a different side of his talent...

I'm relatively a new fan of The Cage. I think it has to be National Treasure 2 Book of Secrets that I enjoy the most. "Oh look! The bobbys!"

I also love The Family Man. Great Christmas film.

I saw Vampires Kiss for the first time the other night and that was hilarious.

I've just recently for a hold of a copy of Valley Girl and can't wait to watch it. :D

LOL! Probably he´s a blend of the two... an exquisite blend, like a good malt... I think that this movie epitomizes his whole career: he IS Charlie and Donald, depending on his artistic choices. Maybe that works on a personal level too, who knows...

OMG..........how synchronostic....cuz today I was seriously thinking of that particular line 'push in the bush' while I was helping Santa select more Christmas stocking stuffers.

I was thinking of how Charlie was with women, yearning after someone from afar and yet too timid to do anything about it except fantasize about her while he um.....enoyed himself alone under his covers vs Donald who had no qualms about saying he was going home with his date for some 'push in the bush'.

Then I got to wondering which of the two Nic is really like.......Maybe a bit of both?   Depending on how much he'd been drinking, perhaps???

Then I got to thinking how I'd better stop thinking about such stuff cuz I had work to do......

LOL Jenny, you would be willing to help Charlie Kaufman when he´s... er... you know...? Well, your generosity of heart is disarming really! You know I could hang out with his bro Donald for some "push in the bush"... Who knows, maybe Donald would get inspiration from us both and write a new script entitled "The Four"... ah, excuse me... I just remembered the poor guy was killed by the laws of poetic justice... Um, my condolences...

BTW does anyone here remember a Yahoogroup message board some years ago dedicated "in loving memory of Donald Kaufman"? I joined, and it was a crackup. Pretty smart people posting there...

Well,
I love Family man, this is the No 1. in my watch list and Adaptation. I love Charlie Kaufman, and I have a felling to protect him from himself sometimes. ANd as well to help him in some moments in the movie /Charlie is  alone in his bed.... LOL.

OK - enough now , I am baking christmas cakes,

OMG, sorry have to go now.

Yeah your question is a good one, Apps. Some of his movies are very emotional... His unsung hero of a character for me is Frank Pierce in Bringing Out the Dead, he wore his heart on his sleeve. And IMO his work was short of genious in Vampire´s Kiss and The Weather Man, both of them about emotionally restrained men who suffer enormously for that ailment. Adaptation was a tour de force of neurotic emotions. And Leaving Las Vegas was like cinema verité, the mother of all emotional movies. Aaah so many movies to choose from...

Wow.....good question.  There are several Nic movies that get my emotions flowing.  Leaving Las Vegas, City of Angels, Family Man.....and Adaptation are the ones that come to mind.
