Wow thanks for the welcome, it feels great to be back in here!
I have sweet memories of my trip which has had a relaxing effect on my overanxious little mind. Apart from the pleasure to finally meet Bonnie in person, which has been a wonderful experience I will treasure, I have to say that I made the right choice when I hurriedly decided to flee. I mean, when I compare my stressful daily routine with that of the Manhattanites... I feel blessed with peace and quiet in comparison, LOL. But I love NYC to death, with all its misery and flaws and neurosis and infinite display of choices, and New Yorkers can actually start making room for me in their midst because I intend to settle there part time some day, hopefully. It´s like going to a big department store... Whatever it is you like, you´re almost certain to find it there. And what I want is finding people from all over mingled together sharing the same soil.
As for Chicago, I had never been there before and it has been a most pleasant surprise. It´s classy, I mean they know about stylishness... And what an impressive setting guys, the beautiful skyline is perched on an enormous lake that looks like the sea because it´s got waves and beaches and you cannot see the other end even from the plane! For us Europeans that´s huuuge...
Aaah I get carried away and am getting tedious. I´d better leave it here or else I´ll catch a plane instead of the subway first thing in the morn, LOL!
As for the European Nicfest Bonnie... well you can count on it!!
Hey Mara! I'm so glad you had a great vacation and had the good fortune to meet Bonnie! The way you and Raven have described her is exactly the sense I get from your photo and reading you Bonnie!
I hope the jet lag is chilling out now and you are reacclimatising to the Madrid vibe.
As for the Nicfest in Europe, in 3 years time you say? I have every intention of being fully well and back on my feet by then, so I'll be there with bells on! Or should I say stilletos? They go well with pj's don't you think?!Lol
I just wanted to add, it is truly wonderful to have so many people from around the world in one place, and I feel this is the magic of online communities in their power at being able to bring people together.
And to all you members from non english speaking countries, you are all totally amazing in your use of language, I really admire you for it, you're all brilliant and wish that we all could be multi lingual to do you all the same honour and be able to converse in each others languages in return.

I am feeling better to know you are in madrid, and have your usual days. When I had a vacation for a longer time, and was back in dept. i was something like out of order doctor. I had the most delightful time in Chicago with Bonnie and her family who are just so welcoming and engaging as herself... Thanks dear for all your sweetness that melted the freezing temps of the Windy City!
But the jetlag and above all the return to work after sooo many days has taken its toll and that´s why I´ve kept mum these last couple of days. I´ve been catching up with your posts during my absence and can only congratulate you all for your witty convos... Sounds like you´re having fun and that´s why we´re all here for so WAY TO GO ladies and gents!
I´ll be my usual self tomorrow. Today I´d better head off to bed cause it´s reallly l-a-t-e even for an insomniac like me... Just missed you all very much and wanted to say hi.

You're right Bonnie, Nic has given us this incredible gift and you see, this is a forum where I can feel people are real and you described each other exactly how one can immgine where reading your posts!!!!! Hey Onlynic17 I'd like to visit Bonnie as well...... and Mara and Raven and ...... hey ladies, you're becoming quite as famous as our Nic, we want to visit you now!!!! I'm sorry; Mara, we can't meet in the Big Apple, but I'll follow your suggestion: I'll bring my child in that big store I can't even imagine his eyes in that huge place, we are used to little towns!!!!! Ah.....ladies you are so sweet in your descriptions of me. Both of you are just, if not, MORE, wonderful to know than how you have described me. Both of you are so lovely, and warm and have such witty and giving spirits and it was a joy and my honor to have had the chance to show you a bit of my city!
As to the rest of the Nicsters....we really do need to have some sort of big NicFest again one of these days! Wouldn't that be a blast to have everyone meet up?
Only a few very lucky fans here have had or ever will receive the 'GIFT' of meeting the man who has brought us all together but......he has....in his own way....given us the 'gift' of bringing some of us together in true friendship.
For that, I will always thank him and be indebted to him. He has.....truly lit up my life with his 'gift'. :)

HI GUYS AND GALS!!! Tight squeezing hugs from donwton Chicago!!! Bonnie and I met yesterday and we've been chatting non-stop all this while... wish you all could have joined us in our girl's night out... I'm missing your posts but I'm happy to see you're keeping track on Nic's goings on my absence... Way to go!
Bonnie is just so sweet and warm hearted and witty and giving as she sounds on her posts folks... Plus, she's got these lively amber eyes and a disarming smile... She's just a joy to be around, let me tell you.
Such a pity I'm going back to Europe by the end of the week Rosita... we could have arranged a NYC coffe party or something... maybe next time right? BTW, brace yourself for the cold... your happy smile could get frozen easily in the Big Apple... bring some warm clothes for your litte one... and don't forget to take him to this huge toy store on Fith Ave., F.A.O. Psst Rosita.....don't tell the teacher (I'm in class right now) but I'm playing hookie to answer this question. No, Mara hasn't arrived yet. I did talk to her for a bit tonight. She was enjoying the Rockerfeller Plaza in NYC when I called her. Anyhoo....I pick her up on Thursday morning at the airport. Tomorrow she and I will talk and finalize our meet-up.

You girls had so much fun meeting each other!!!!! Nic has great fans, we have always said but every occasion confirms it more and more. Pajama party would be faboulous.....considering that Nic won't wear it!!!! he may be like in the family man (the photo in Jenny's aviatar, pefect choice my dear!!!!). Gwen you are right, there's a very friendly atmosphere in this site......
By the way I'm staying from 24th Dec to 3rd January: some of you will be there during that period? When I told my friends here that I wanted to organize a Nic's fans coffe chit chat (can we call it like that?) somewhere in NYC, we all burst out laughing because, you know, here if you want to go out and meet someone you just say "I'll see you downtown, in the sqaure!!!! But then we realized that million of people will be in the centre of new york, so ...... OK I'll think about it!!!!!
Of course you're welcome to join the party Gwen! The more the merrier is the Nicster's motto! And as far as meeting your soulmates on the net......two phrases come to mind...

Ok I´m packing my baggage but I couldn´t resist posting in here after reading what you dear Nicsters had to say... you´re beautiful people, did you know that? I am with you Jenny, I feel like I know all of you personally (and some other Nicsters from the past whose posts I used to read avidly during my lurker years).
Such a strange tool, the Internet. So close and inmediate yet so distant.
BTW, I´m all for the Big Nicsters Party... we could begin by bringing the dif chapters together in every continent, and then.... establish the Nicster´s United Nations Committee, and have a HUUUGE PAJAMA PARTY LOL! Presided by the man himself of course hehehe... in his pajamas of course!! For the moment, I´m honored to be meeting Bonnie who´s become a very dear friend post after post, mail after mail. Am I fortunate or what?

In friendship a closed door just means a person has to knock to be invited in. I'll come to New York, too. I'll be there for Christmas Holiday and The New Year. I still don't believe it. I have never visited NYC in my life and I had always thought I wouldn't ever have the possibility to do it, but life changes abruptly, sometimes tragedies happen and you can't stop them. That's why I chose to come with my little child, Nicola. I, like all people in the world, deserve some happiness not only sadness and this time I had the possibility to fullfill a dream I had since I was a child. And I'm going to leave. When I paid for the ticket I said to myself. I do it, I really do it!!!!! I hope to meet some of Nic's fans there. You are right, Bonnie. Cage's girls just wonna have fun!!!! I hope to see some of you. Maybe someday we'll organize a real party, the biggest fan party in the world. I'm sure Nic will be proud of us!!!! See you soon, wonderful people who are all around the world. You have warmed my heart all of this time and you have cheered me up so much. You don't even immagine how good you are!!!
I feel very romantic today, so please don't blame me if I consider you my webfriends. I found a postcard that is perfect for the situation and this is for all of you. You made me feel this way and I thank you, all of you and I thank our Nic who gave us the possibility to share a common passion for him and for human being in general. Ok.... Ok guys, I badly need a vacation (who doesn´t?) so I´m taking one. Be back in ten days or so.... I´m heading for NY and Chicago... Yep, I´ll be meeting our Bonnie there... I´m so excited. This is one of those gifts life has to offer, turning cyberspace into reality.
