Bonnie, our fearless moderator in leave of absence, had a wonderful idea before taking a break from the site, and I am now forwarding her wonderful idea to you guys.
She was cleaning out some Nic related stuff and found seven burned copies of the Nicolas Cage Wild at Heart CD in which he sings a couple of Elvis songs to Lula. Point is, she thought about setting up a contest to allow some Nicsters on this site to get them as a prize of sorts.
And the contest in question, drum-roll please, would constist of writing a three paragraph eassay on when, why and how each of you became a Nicfan, followed by a one paragraph blurb written as if Nic were reading it, in which you told him why he´s your fave actor.
The start date for the contest would be October 20 and the end date October 31.
Some basic rules to bear in mind: Those essays you should PM to us moderators and we will put our thinking caps on to decide, among all your literary efforts, who the winners are.
I´m sure it will be really hard to pick up only seven of you, but that´s life: we´ve only got seven CDs to give away. Only those who are on the member roll as of tomorrow are allowed to win a prize. Later on, the essays would be posted after the competition is closed and the winners announced. If you post your essays on the forum prior to the closing date that would disqualify you from the contest.
Only registered members as of October 20 will be eligible to win a prize, and remember: you must send your essays to Colleen or myself via a private message before October 31, for us to read and decide on the winners. We will post the essays later on in the forum for everybody to read.
This should be fun for everyone. Please don´t think we´re showing favor to anybody, it´s just a way to have a little fun all together and get our creative minds to work! So, get on your marks, ready GO!!
