Nicolas Cage is ****ed and loaded in Bangkok Dangerous Nicolas Cage returns to the big screen as remorseless hit man Joe in Bangkok Dangerous which opens in Malaysian cinemas next Thursday. If the film title sounds familiar to you it’s because the film is a remake of the popular Thai-language action film of the same name. Interestingly enough, this Hollywood remake retained the original film’s directors, the Pang brothers - Danny and Oxide, who were responsible for such horror films as The Eye series.
“We thought it would be an interesting challenge to update the concept after more than six years,” said Oxide Pang. “We were able to take the same concept, the same idea, refine it considerably and bring it to a bigger audience.”The film concerns Joe, an anonymous assassin whose life takes an unexpected turn when he travels to Thailand to complete a series of contract killings. Joe is to execute four enemies of a ruthless crime boss.
In order to cover his tracks, Joe hires a street punk named Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm) to help him. Joe’s isolated existence, however, starts to change as he begins mentoring Kong and falls for a local shopgirl who is deaf and mute.
