Ahhh! I see it now! thankyou for the explanation Mara! I could see all the colours but I admit I was having trouble working out what it was. What a lovely idea for an avvie I like elephant symbols, Ganesh the hindu god is represented with an elephants head and a symbol for the root chakra (an energy centre at the base of the spine). How about that for useless trivia! I didn't know that about the trunk having to be pointing up for luck! Maybe I should get one!?!

It's funny cuz......about three years ago I talked my sister Karen into buying an elephant statue cuz I knew they were supposed to be good luck IF their trunks pointed skyward and boy....if anyone could use good luck, it's her!!!
I, however, didn't realize that it was a Thai custom!

I know my current avatar is not coming thru clearly... got a lousy camera, lol... but in case you´re remotely curious about it: it´s a Thai elephant *wink, wink* which for those of you who have seen BD will bring up some memories... It´s lovely but gaudy craftwork I bought at a Mediterranean beach last spring... the curio store clerk assured me it was Thai! Supposedly it brings good luck... I have placed it beside my equally gaudy Haitian Voodoo mask in my bedroom... kinda matching colours, lol...
