As for me, I've always preferred men around the same age of myself....five years either way.....
I'd hate to be with someone much older than me unless they were in all ways young at heart and on the flipside, someone alot younger than me wouldn't interest me because I believe in 50/50 full partnerships and don't want to have to teach a young man how to be an adult! I want to be 'in the moment' in a relationship!
In short, I prefer a mate! I have no need for a father (wouldn't know what to do with one anyway having never had one) and most definitely, do not need teenage son at this stage of the game..............

Me too. Sorry to say it, but the fact of the matter is, that if the age discrepancy between the characters is too big on the screen, it seriously detracts from the movie.....for me....that is.
I know that filmakers want to 'hit' all the obvious audience targets....but.....I personally think this kind of stuff hurts a movie.

My husband and I really like most of Nicolas Cages' film's. My husband especially liked the first National Treasure, and looks forward to seeing the new one when it comes out on DVD. My daughter and I watched "Next" last evening. Jessica Biel is my daughters age, and Nicolas is only 5 years younger than myself. My daughter especially felt the age difference was distasteful. When we first saw Jessica Biels character we thought perhaps she was going to play his daughter, and were surprised that she had been cast as his love interest. Kind of creepy.
