RE: Helping my fellow Fallen Hero's!

A few minutes ago, I just experienced an emotion that left me with a warm fuzzy!  Ya'll know that I am trying to set up a Library for my fellow Wounded Warriors right?  You also might recall a few weeks ago the request for donations in the form of books, music and movies.  Well I just opened a box filled with books, not just any type of books..but great classics like Dickenson, Jack London, Homer and even Bram Stockers "Dracula" as well as self help books!  The books came from the Townsend Library company, but what is odd..the sender did not put his or her name!  These books are brand spanking new, never used!  Now I do not know if the sender was someone from here or from one of the other sites I posted my request on, but who ever sent this wonderful gift of books (at least fifty books!), THANK YOU..you have shown me that their are still folks in the world that want too help other humans without asking for anything in return.  Right now, I am sitting here in quiet amazement and gratitude.  The Soldiers are going to love the books and maybe by being able to get lost in an adventure with Tom Sawyer, or the War of the worlds, they might just have a better day instead of focusing on the pain and worry and for some, the shock of being in war.  This is simply priceless!  Again, whomever you are, you have my gratitude forever!

And for those that might have missed the email a few weeks ago, and would like to donate either books, movies and music (the items do NOT have too be new btw), please send your items to me at:

Darcy L. Quinlan
Wounded Warrior Transition Battalion
Bldg. 4231

God Bless and thanks,
Darcy

I am sending this bulletion out in request for help in setting up a library for my fellow Wounded Warrior Soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty or war. I am not asking for money, just if you have any books, music, videos, games you no longer want, we would love them!

I am setting up a Library for our Wounded Warrior's. Being stuck here on base and most in wheelchairs or crutches or on strong medications and can not move much, the Soldiers need good books/movies/music to read/watch and I am sure they would be widely read/watched/played and therefore helping Soldiers when they have nothing to do but go too Doctors appointments. Think you would be willing to donate a few for us? I would love that and my fellow Wounded Warriors would be very greatful as well, you all have an amazing heart and we THANK YOU!

Here is my mailing addy:

Do you know the band "Five for Fighting", well they along with several other well known artist cut a CD especially for the Wounded Warriors and our Soldier who are still fighting in this war, and I was able to talk with the Leader of the band, John and his Manager Gillian and they sent a box of CD's for the Wounded Soldiers and myself here at Fort Hood, the Soldiers were suprised and happy and it was very touching. I took a few and brought them to the Soldiers who are to sick to be anyplace other than homebound or in the Hospital. It's little things like this that really help a fallen Hero. Ya know?

I know it's probably a pipe dream, but how cool would it be if Nic or his people could send some autographed things?  Very cool indeed!

Anyways, have a BEAUTIFUL DAY my friends!
