I disagree, I think that he was great in Wild at Heart. Its just a different sort of movie from a different time in his life when he was wanting to make more artsy type unusual movies like when he did Vampire's Kiss.     Also, I think that Ghost Rider brought him new fans of a new generation, too.

I always thought City of Angels was a serious movie I hope one of these days he makes a sequel. I really liked Ghost Rider too I have a good feeling we will be seeing a Ghost Rider 2 in the near future. If there is a Nicholas Cage movie I don't want to ever see a sequel too it has to be Wild at Heart he must have been on drugs when he was in that movie 90% of it made no sense. Too bad he never got the Superman role wonder how he let that slip through?

Everyone of us makes choices that may fall in mistakes, Im talking about work not life, I liked very much National Treasure, and I think that the most important thing about that movie is that Nic has passed to another generation. Let me try to explain this with other words. My nine years old doughter saw this movie ( and loved it ) and now she recognizes Nic in every movie she sees. Before that, he was another actor in another movie, the same happened with Johnny Depp (Pirates), and this kind of movies make actors go on and on cautivating new minds (or eyes). By the way, my doughter likes Orlando Bloom!!

That is... it's not a bad movie, but it's trivia.

Nicolas Cage can do lots better than that, I'm sure!
I'm not against making films for the money, this is his job, after all.
But he needs to concentrate from time to time when choosing a script. He's in his best age for acting, he must do some more great movies in order to convince the audience he's still that amazing guy who played in Birdy, Face/Off, etc. I loved his play in Adaptation and Lord Of War. That WAS something, Mr. Cage!
Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed Ghost Rider so much that I'm planning to go and see it again. But it'll be because of the choppers and Nicolas Cage's appearance.
Every actor needs some movies like that.
But after all, they shouldn't forget that they are ACTORS not supermodels.
So after having fun, spend some time to pick the right script.
I'll support everything that is connected with Mr. Cage but I'd rather see him concerned about his carrer. Don't become that "sweet-talking, sugar-coated candyman". We've had enough of them.
Free your great talent, show us what you got!
Until then: all my respect and admiration.

Maybe it is not only my opinion, but I think National Treasure is a good, nor yet fantastic movie and I liked it very much!
Everybody says that Nic is recently ringing down - but hey, he cant be the same in every periods of his life -  its impossible.
I saw the Lord of War and huh, it really hit me - what a sordid man he had to play!
But I like it - something truth, some kind of hidden emotions, the way he was playing...
I watched it twice, but I'll do it at least once more.
Ghost Rider was a little bit disapointing for me, but not as bad that I wont see it another time,
just I waited for a wholer story, and I was looking for something more special - maybe I am to blame.
In my opinion Nicholas would never be "sweet-talking, sugar-coated candyman", and I hope I am right.
Thats all I want to say.
Come on Nic!

I agree that Nic is brilliant! He has a brilliant mind and is a brillant actor.   Maybe he should produce and  also direct one of his own movies again, while also starring in it, too.  I liked Sonny and he directed that one though he didn't star in it.

It appears that the one coming out next month called "Next" has a lot of action, maybe it will be on the level of Face off or The Rock, it looks good. I do hope he makes another one on the level of Matchstick Men it was one of my favorite performances of him

I'm gonna go off on one of my  famous rant's- so beware!! these are dangerous waters-lol  so im thinking today of the crazy road that nicolas cages career has taken- some of the "or should i say a lot of the BAD movies he's made"..I never signed on as a cage fan to endure POPCORN ACTION MOVIES!! and no i don't wanna waste 2 full hours watching FLUFF.. I need great acting- deep character buildup- and passionate performances!!! to borrow one of JOHNNY DEPPS lines from "the libertine" and then slightly change it- i must say this "MOVIES ARE MY DRUG- AND ONLY FILMS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY WILL SATISFY MY ADDICTION.. i have recently put out a list of cage movies that i feel fully demonstrate the full "CAGE EXPERIENCE" its interesting to note that johnny depps most popular role of all time that jack sparrow character -is my most hated depp movie!!! just like national treasure represents the worst of cages movies!! just big budget hollywood farsey ****e!!! {but am i alone in my thinking} does anyone else need movies of substance i know GHOST RIDER SHOULDNT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY-  but wait a minute- X-MEN has a great triology going with great acting from patrick stewart-jackman-etc- but I HATE BIG BUDGET NONSENSE MOVIES AND THATS WHAT CAGE IS DOING.. so im thinking of my top 7 actors and TODAY i came up with a solution-- instead of debating myself about should i or shouldnt i drop nick in the list I'LL MAKE HIM MY HONARY FAVORITE ACTOR OF ALL-TIME!!! that way he can make all the HOLLYWOOD ****E MOVIES HE WANTS and he'll still be my favorite actor off all-time.. you see my favorite list is PERFORMANCE DRIVEN-- years ago 3 to be exact EWAN MCGREGOR was my favorite actor and nick was #7 at the time- i then went to see MATCHSTICK MEN at the theatre and was blown away!! so GET READY FOR THIS- I BOUGHT ALMOST ALL THE CAGE DVD'S IN ONE WEEK. I studied past performances -dissected them- and ran them through the machine of my head- until nick was number one for me- right through the weather man and lord of war--WHERES ewan you ask out of my top 15 WHY he hasnt produced ****e in years..I just cant keep someone as my favorite actor based on performances from 10-15 years ago--if you look at my BEST ACTOR LIST you'll see a group of guys who CAREFULLY choose theyre next movies--EXAMPLE LEONARDO DICAPRIO whos my #2 actor has made 16 feature lenght movies that he's starred in i like 13 of them really like!!! and i havent seen 3 of them--YIKES.. it's all about movie choice- just like simon cowell says it's all about song selection.. hers my current top 5 actor list..

1---johnny depp
2---leonardo dicaprio
3---christian bale
4---phillip seymour hoffman
5---jake gylenhaal

Im hoping that nicolas cage starts really thinking of making serious movies- and going for the golden globes- or at least going for honest good acting roles in the future- because if GHOST RIDER AND THE WICKER MAN WERE INDICATIVE OF THE TYPE OF MOVIES THAT HE WAS 'all about" I WOULDNT OF EVER LIKED HIM--Id love to hear youre feedback- and if you cant tell i love nicolas cage from this letter than youre foolish-- i just feel betrayed by his movie choices...
