RE: Does he Nicholas Cage have a dog?

I agree that people should not take on pets without being aware of the responsibility involved. It is a big commitment. It is one of my pet peeves when I see people adopt a cute animal and then casually decide they no longer fit the lifestyle or they are too much work, etc. Do some research! Think about it some more!
When we got our dog Prince it was a big decision. We looked around a lot and talked to people. Even so, the first year was really hard. He is headstrong and very assertive and I had to learn to handle him. But he is mommy's boy now and  I love him dearly and could never imagine not having him. He is 9 years old and has arthritis, so sad to see.

Who knows the situation with Nic's pets, can't judge really. I hope he loves them as much as I love my boy.

Here are two pics I found of Nic with dogs, not sure if the GS is his or not, it certainly is a beautiful animal.  My boy is the last pic.

Cool tidbit there Connor.  Giant Schnauzers are supposed to be highly intelligent and good family dogs.  I bet Kal is going to fall in love with him/her.

The only thing that bothers me about someone like Nic owning a pet is that they travel and change home locations so much that it seems unfair (to the animal) to either own a pet yet have to have someone else have to caretake it for you all the time or that they end up keeping the animal for only a year or two.

My pets have always been like my children to me.  Everytime I want to get away for even a night I have to seriously consider who will watch my pets for me.  For instance, my 12 year old boxer isn't doing well....he's on his last lap and we've decided no more traveling for him.  It just takes too much out of him.  Which means that even tho the family will be heading off to the lake for the long July 4th weekend holiday, someone has to stay home with the dog.  That someone, will of course, be me as I'm the 'momma'.  My baby is worth it!

I like that he loves animals. But if you really love them you wouldnt take a pet at all if you dont have al lot of time to take care of them.

Gerri Lee........all good questions if you ask me.   I think it's a downright sin to surround yourself with animals that you spend virtually no time with at all.  Animals give such unconditional love, but they need love and attention back too.  Of course, in the case of Nic, I'm sure he has a housekeeper who is around most of the time to at least feed the creatures and maybe scratch an ear from time to time.

I just love guys that love cats...

Speaking of which, I saw a picture of him, a younger one, where he had a cat on his shoulder. And I cannot find it anywhere!! I really want to see it again.

Oh, that would be awesome if you can find it ^^

What happened to all those sweeties

Dogs need a lot of affection ...who was taking care of them ?

Where was he keeping animals like a shark ( that is very fragile if keep captive) and mantis .....

The more I know people and the more I love my pets !

Obviously he didn't have all those animals at the same time!...I expect some got old and died.

Nic is in a position to be able to house exotic pets and have them looked after!

He used to have a German Shepherd dog and two albino Dobermanns.

He also had a burmese cat called Louis, a Lemon shark and a praying mantis named gwendolin!

He now apparently owns two King Cobra snakes... a male and female named Moby and Sheba.

Well, according to our waiter, every morning when the staff comes in they are given the latest news on Lulu.  Lulu, btw is a male shark and he just couldn't resist chasing fishtails.  That's what got him in trouble in the first place.  Anyhoo....Lulu is being kept isolated and is being watched very carefully.  The waiter said he has started to eat again, so that is a very good sign, right?

As far as having to do the right thing..... In my opinion, there is no other way to live your life if you want to be able to look at yourself in the mirror everyday with the knowledge you've done what HAD to be done...which is not necessarily what you WANT to do.  It's the hardest thing in the world for someone to live that way....and everyone is put to the test one way or another and no one...I repeat....no one can achieve perfection.  It is also in the knowledge that you've tried to do right that makes ya relatively whole within yourself.   At least to me it is.  Other people would probably say I'm full of ****ake...

 Bellabenbon,

Is Lulu a boy or girl reef shark? She must be a girl right? judging by the name Lulu????

Well, regardless, Like you  initially said, Thank god for Exotic Fish Hospitals. If one of the fish  at my work started to get sick, I would call the Fish Hospital right away because the residents would notice one of the fish was missing and well, it's just one of those times when you have to do what you have to do to do the right thing and save the fish. What is wrong with that????

Trying to do the right thing. If you  continue to try to do the right thing , you can't lose... It sounds so stupid.... But i think it's true......

 Ms. bellabenbon,

Lulu, the reef shark , You have to check up on her. It's not her fault, Maybe she was just hungry and ate her aquarium friends. It can't be true. You have to make sure Lulu is OK and not condemned as a fish killer...You have to check on Lulu regardless of anything else.....

Hey Caged!   I just came home from a nice restaurant near my home called the 'Canoe Club' that has a humongoid aquarium tank in it's bar with reef sharks in it.  I go there quite often for a MaiTai and Lobster Bisque.  (Yummy).....One of the reef sharks, that goes by the name of LuLu, took it upon himself to start eating all of the 4" yellow fish in the tank and went and gave himself a nasty bout of indigestion.   To the point of....after 3 weeks, they had to remove LuLu to a special aquatic hospital to help him recover from his gorging.  What I'm saying here is......don't knock the Fish Docs!!!

I miss Lulu and worry about him.......  :)  Thank goodness that even Fish have a hospital to head to when they are under the weather....

An Octopus, huh.... Well, There you go...  Aquariums are so cool. There is one at my work and

sometimes when I'm stressed out I just look over at the Aquarium and just watch the fish swimming. I don't know what it is but is is calming.. .That is why Phsychiatrists always have them. But thank god, I don't have to measure the water Ph & everything else that goes along with having a beautiful aquarium..You have to have  or be  an aquatic engineer   just to keep it going...... That would be a cool job.

At the bar ..Some guy....

"so, Babe,  What do you do for a living, ??

"Oh, me, I am  just  an aquatic engineer for the Department of  uhhhh... Dept. of Defense"....

Yeah, That's it. And you?

You're prob right Cagedin.  He did have an octopuss for a pet at one time so an aquarium seems feasible.

I could see Nicholas cage with a menagerie of exotic pets. I could see him with an elaborate freshwater Aquarium in at least one of his houses with sea horses and starfish ....I want to adopt a desert tortoise...If my dogs will allow it.....

just becuase nobody responded doesn't mean noone cares. look at how many views your post had not responses maybe noone replied for the same reason i didn't i wasn't sure of the answer i hate being wrong so instead of just running my mouth i try to make sure i know what i'm talking about, having a pet may not be a que as to personality traits. some really horrible people have and neglect pets. if i had the schedule our nick has i don't think i'd have pets it would not be fair to leave them behind or drag them around. i understand the love for a pet i've chosen not to have kids so my dog is diffently that for me i had a cat for 13 years it crushed me when i had to put her down. my mellie is a 70 # lab/chow mix that thinks she's a 7 # lap dog i know i'd be truely devestaded if i lose her

Well, no one seems to be very interested as to whether or not Nicholas Cage has dogs or pets. I think he does. They may be his new wife's dogs or whatever...  This might sound weird but I just know that Nic has got to have a dog. If he doesn't, Well. that says something...

Somehow, It is important. As a fan. I love my dogs more than anything..... They are Pekingnese. Brother & sister. Their owner died and I lost my dog, Percy and then I adopted them.  No-one would adopt them together. ANd they have spent their whole lives together.. They lost their "Mother" and I am so lucky to have them... Gigi is the girl and Gixzmo is the boy.

They are  my everything... ... They are so  innocent . I love them. How can someone not love

dogs..???
